Repetitive strain injury of the knee affects the patella tendon, which runs down the front of the knee, below the kneecap. Boots sport knee strap provides targeted compression to the area of weakness to reduce pain and swelling. It alleviates excessive forces applied to the patella tendon during exercise and limits any shock or vibrations which can damage tendons. The support has been designed with adjustable fasteners to ensure a customised fit for most body types. It is also reversible for right and left knees.
How to use
This support is suitable for knee dimensions of 29cm - 52cm (11.5 - 20.5 inches). This is the measurement around the leg just below the kneecap.
1. Open the fastener, place the padded area of the strap centrally over the area just below the kneecap, with the plastic buckle on the outside of the leg.
2. Close the fastener, adjusting the tightness so that the pad applies a noticeable pressure to the leg. Adjust the tightness over time as required.
Hazards and Cautions
This strap should only be used to treat problems with the patella tendon, these are usually associated with pain down the front of the leg, just below the kneecap that gets worse after exercise. The strap is not intended for continuous wear. Do not over tighten. This may increase swelling or cut circulation.
