Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. • Unplug the appliance during filling and cleaning. • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. • Always place this humidifier on a firm, flat and level surface. For proper humidity reading use a hygrometer, such as the Vicks V70 2-in-1 Hygrometer & Thermometer which is available in many hardware and department stores, or by ordering one from the manufacturer. • Do not place the product directly on wood furniture or other surfaces that could be damaged by water or liquids. The manufacturer will not accept responsibility for property damage caused by spillage or leaking. • This appliance must only be used with the power supply unit provided with the appliance. • The appliance is only to be used with the recommended vaporising medium. The use of other substances may give rise to a toxic or fire risk. • Micro-organisms that may be present in the water or in the environment where the appliance is used or stored, can grow in the water reservoir and be blown in the air causing very serious health risks when the water is not renewed, and the tank is not cleaned properly every 3 days. • Be aware that high humidity levels may encourage the growth of biological organisms in the environment. • Do not permit the area around the humidifier to become damp or wet. If dampness occurs, turn the output of the humidifier down. If the humidifier output volume cannot be turned down, use the humidifier intermittently. Do not allow absorbent materials, such as carpeting, curtains, drapes, or tablecloths, to become damp. • Never leave water in the reservoir when the appliance is not in use. • Empty and clean the humidifier before storage. Power Supply FIRST TIME OF USE Before using the unit for the first time, you should note the following points: • Remove all packing material from the unit. • It is recommended that you disinfect your humidifier prior to first use. See cleaning Instructions. • Select a firm, level location at least 15 cm from any walls for proper airflow. • Place the humidifier on a water-resistant surface. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FILLING (See appendix A on page 4) • Remove the Water Tank by pulling straight up. Set aside (A1). • Turn the Water Tank upside down so that the Tank Cap is facing up; unlock the Tank Cap by turning it counter-clockwise and set aside (A2). • Fill the Water Tank with clean, cool, tap water (A3). • Replace the Tank Cap by turning clockwise (A4). Turn the Water Tank upright and check the Tank Cap for leaks. If any water drips from the Tank Cap, remove it and re-tighten. Use of very cold water may temporarily reduce the mist output. Never fill the humidifier with hot or warm water as this could cause damage and void your warranty. NOTE: When carrying the filled Water Tank, please place your hand under the tank for additional support. • Position the Water Tank in the humidifier and push into place. Align the 2 indicators lines. Some water will empty into the Base (A5). • Once the filled tank has been positioned, do not attempt to move the humidifier. If it has to be moved, unplug the humidifier and remove the Water Tank first. POWER (see appendix B on page 4) CAUTION: DO NOT PLUG IN THE HUMIDIFIER WITH WET HANDS AS AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK COULD OCCUR. • With the power switch in the OFF position, insert the power supply into an outlet. Plug the DC jack into the unit base (B1). • Press the Power button. The pilot light will illuminate (B2). • The Cleaning indicator and sound will go on when you switch the device on. Press the cleaning button to acknowledge that the water tank is cleaned (B3), the sound and light to clean will turn off. • Your humidifier will emit a constant cool mist output. A comfortable humidity level is between 40-60%. To monitor your humidity level use a hygrometer such as the Vicks V70 2-in-1 Hygrometer & Thermometer (B4). • The unit will shut off when it is out of water and the power indicator light will illuminate RED. • Turn the humidifier off before removing and refilling the Water Tank. When the Water Tank is empty and the water level in the base gets too low, the fan and nebulizer turn off. VAPOPAD HEATER DIRECTIONS FOR USE (see appendix C on page 4) • Turn off and unplug your humidifier (C1). • Open VapoPad door located to the left of the Power button (C2). • Be careful not to touch the VapoPad with your hands (C3). If your hands do come in contact with the pad, wash them thoroughly, as essential oils can be irritant to the skin. Insert VapoPad with angled end facing to the left of the product in the slot (C4). • Close the door (C5), plug the unit back in and turn it on. • VapoPads provide up to eight hours of soothing vapors for temporary relief from cough and congestion. Note: As long as your humidifier is on, the VapoPad heater will also be activated. This area can be warm to the touch. NEVER add essential oils or VapoPads directly into the water tank as this can result in degradation to the material. UFI: AD10-80UX-M008-EGSE WARNING: Pad may present a choking hazard. CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS EVERY 3 DAYS CLEANING (See appendix D on page 4) • Each time the device is switched on or every 3 days, the cleaning feature will illuminate and beep every 5 seconds to remind the user of the required cleaning. Press the cleaning indicator to acknowledge that the water tank is cleaned, the reminder to clean the device will reset. The light and the beep sound will turn off. If you do not acknowledge your cleaning, the light will stay on and the beep will sound every 5 seconds until the cleaning indicator is pressed, whilst the unit will operate normally. • Disconnect from the mains before cleaning (D1). • Every third day, lift the Water Tank from the Base (D2) and empty all water from the reservoir (D3). Before refilling, disconnect the Chimney (D4) and clean the Water Tank and the Chimney with fresh tap water or cleaning agents if required (D5). Rinse with water and remove any scale, deposits, or film that has formed on the sides of the tank or on interior surfaces (D6). Put the Chimney back onto the tank (D7),and wipe all surfaces dry (D8). • DO NOT leave water in the Water Tank or reservoir when the unit is not in use as it may result in the buildup of mineral deposits and bacteria that can inhibit the output efficiency of the humidifier. Please note that if water remains in the Water Tank for more than a day or two, bacteria growth is possible. • To fill and power ON, refer to Operating Instructions (see Appendix A and B on page 4). WEEKLY SCALE REMOVAL (See appendix E on page 5) • Disconnect from the mains before cleaning (E1). • Lift the Water Tank from the Base (E2) and empty all water from the reservoir (E3). Remove the Tank Cap and drain any water from the Water Tank (E4). Disconnect the Chimney and clean the Water Tank with fresh tap water or cleaning agents if required (E5). Wipe it clean with a soft, damp cloth. Rinse the Water Tank with lukewarm water after each use. • Add 0.5 liter of undiluted distilled white vinegar to Water Tank. Replace Tank Cap and swish vinegar solution around in Tank. Place Tank on Base. Vinegar solution will drain into Water Reservoir and loosen mineral buildup (scale) on Nebulizer as it soaks in the solution. It will also loosen scale on bottom of Water Tank (E6). • Soak for 15-20 minutes (E7). • After soaking, unlock Tank Cap and pour solution out in sink. Pour solution from Water Reservoir out in sink (E8). • Wipe Nebulizer and Float with soft cloth to remove loosened mineral deposits (E9). • Rinse Water Reservoir and Water Tank until smell of vinegar is gone. Make sure water does not enter the fan opening (vented opening in back of base) or Power Switch. Put the Chimney back onto the tank (E10). • DO NOT immerse the Base in water. Gently wipe the reservoir with a soft, clean, wet cloth. • DO NOT use detergent to clean any water-containing parts of the humidifier. Detergents and the film they leave behind can affect the output of the humidifier. DO NOT use abrasive cleansers or brushes. • To fill and power ON, refer to Operating Instructions (see Appendix A and B on page 4). WEEKLY DISINFECTING (See appendix F on page 5) • Disconnect from the mains before cleaning (F1). • Lift the Water Tank from the Base (F2) and empty all water from the reservoir (F3). Remove the Tank Cap and drain any water from the Water Tank (F4). Disconnect the Chimney and clean it with fresh tap water or cleaning agents if required (F5). • Thoroughly clean humidifier every week using a solution of bleach and water (5ml of bleach in 1.8 liters of water). Fill the water tank partially with this solution (F6). • Let stand 20 minutes (F7), shaking vigorously every few minutes. Drain and rinse with clean water until the bleach smell is gone (F8). area thoroughly before proceeding (F9). • If mineral deposits are evident around the Nebulizer, clean the surface with a soft, clean cloth and a small amount of undiluted white vinegar. If necessary for removal of mineral deposits, mix a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water and fill the Base with enough solution to cover the Nebulizer. Rinse out the reservoir and wipe clean. Do not touch Nebulizer or the Water Sensor with bare fingers as any fingerprints or residue can reduce mist output. Do not immerse the Base in water.
