Whichever method is used, it is recommended, for 15 minutes prior to use, to avoid eating or drinking any liquids, exercising, taking showers or baths, or smoking. Do not allow children to walk or run during temperature taking. This thermometer contains small parts that can be swallowed or produce a choking hazard to children.
